A Cataclysm Relic

A Cataclysm Relic The Quest Reward The first Vanguard restoration quest returns a level-2000 codex whose level requirement has been removed. Its design resembles an object once carried by the Umbral Regent. A Hungry Artifact The book absorbs mana into separate pages and converts it back with significant loss. It creates a portable reserve larger than any ordinary mage could carry. A Suspicious Gift The relic is useful even to Vivisari, which makes its existence unsettling. The System appears to be preparing the heroes for a threat that may require stored power on an unprecedented scale.

Borrowed Apocalypse

Borrowed Apocalypse A Mortal Connection Saffra links to a page filled with Vivisari’s mana and experiences an oceanic pressure of power. Even a fraction of Vivi’s reserve feels capable of destroying mountains. A Mistaken Scale Saffra accidentally pours the borrowed energy into Scorchlance and destroys a Star-Ice Sentinel. The spell is technically hers to form but not hers to fuel, so the Grand System grants no experience. The Temptation of Power Vivi offers Saffra an even stronger attempt against the Star-Core Bloom. The experiment demonstrates how easily mentorship can become dangerous when a student receives access to a master’s entire scale of force.
